“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
We all know someone, whether it’s a friend, family member, or acquaintance who is all in when it comes to faithfully trusting in God’s perfect timing. Morgan and Zach are these people for me. While they were married in Lakeland, FL this past June, their story was being written way before then. This Hallmark-esque love story is one of my favorites and I feel honored to tell you all about it.
When Morgan and Zach became teachers, they both had one glaringly obvious similarity, according to their students. And that was the simple fact that they were both single. Their students recognized their single status and thought they might be a good fit for one another. Little did these two know what beautiful story God had created that was about to unfold.
Morgan and Zach had been praying that God would bring them the one. While they waited for this special someone to be revealed to them, these two followed His plan for their lives patiently waiting for the time to come.
After the initial set up, Morgan and Zach held their first date in secret right before the world pandemic was hitting. The world felt like it was hitting “pause” and to this pair it felt like the perfect time to dive in and try out a relationship without any pressure. No one at their school knew. There was no nudging from their larger communities. It was truly God’s timing for them to get to know each other through low-key hang outs and dates amidst a global shut down.
From the time they began seeing each other, their new day to day lives revolved around cooking for one another, taking walks lakeside, binging Netflix shows together and slowly learning more and more about each other. It did not take long for them to realize they were each other’s person. They were meant to spend their lives with each other. God knew exactly what he was doing and He was in control.
As the world opened back up and their little quarantine secret became public knowledge, their students were thrilled to learn the news! Everyone back at school was on board with this pairing! Shortly after everyone’s approval, Zach proposed at The Joinery, which is coincidentally where they had their first “public” date and shared their first kiss.
Soon after their engagement kicked off, they reached out to me to ensure I would be available to capture their big day in Florida. Morgan had always dreamed of getting married in a chapel with stained-glass windows. When they stumbled upon the Victory Light of Lights chapel in Lakeland, it was a clear and obvious choice. When the day these two had been waiting and praying for all their lives came, they were surrounded by family and friends. The ceremony was beautiful, the reception (held at Eaglebrooke Golf Club) was an absolute blast, and God was so present throughout the entire day.
It was a true honor having the opportunity to capture the joy these two shared as they became husband and wife. We laughed, we teared up, and we danced the night away! A huge congratulations to Zach and Morgan and a big thank you to all the vendors who helped make this day so effortless.
