2023 was an incredible year of capturing love stories! I couldn’t think of a better way to wrap the year up than by sharing a full circle moment with Carolyn and Grayson at the Pendennis Club in Louisville. This dynamic duo initially won my Instagram giveaway for a couples session. And since then, they quickly became a cherished part of my photography journey in Kentucky.
If you haven’t already, take a stroll down memory lane with their earlier blog features. On the blog, I’ve highlighted their couples session at Crescent Hill Reservoir and their downtown Louisville engagement session. Each chapter brought us closer to their grand finale, a wedding that perfectly encapsulated their unique and beautiful love story.
From the moment I first captured these two during the couples session to the exchanging of vows at the Pendennis Club, it’s been evident they are a match made in heaven. Walking through multiple seasons with my couples is a privilege! And, witnessing their journey from engagement to marriage has been nothing short of heartwarming.
Carolyn looked like a vision in her gown, a perfect fit that radiated sheer elegance. The details of their day were punctuated with moments of sweet silliness, like the temporary tattoos featuring her soon-to-be hubby. Why not add a touch of playfulness to the day? Even though a light rain shower began as we started bride and groom portraits, nothing could get in the way of the pure joy they share. They absolutely radiate love for one another when they are together.
The Pendennis Club, with its old-school library charm and enchanting chandeliers, served as the ideal backdrop for this classic affair. But let’s not forget to discuss the ceremony, too! The ceremony took place in an awe-inspiring cathedral setting of St. Boniface. This church ranks high among the most stunning backdrops I’ve had the pleasure of capturing throughout my career.
As the night unfolded, the wedding party sprinkled a bit of holiday cheer into the celebration with Santa hats! The dance floor was not only a riot to people watch, but a festive one! There’s something truly special about capturing love amidst the twinkling lights and joyful chaos of the holiday season.
Being a part of Carolyn and Grayson’s wedding was not just about taking pictures; it was about freezing those fleeting moments of complete contentedness, glee and downright fun for them to enjoy for decades. Their wedding day was a testament to the authenticity of their connection and the infectious happiness they bring to each other. It was the perfect mixture of classic elegance and unbridled joy.
