It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Temperatures are dropping, the holidays are quickly approaching, and new bling is popping up on hands everywhere. That’s right, it’s engagement season! Surprise proposals may just be my favorite thing to shoot! In the spirit of the holiday season, I wanted to share one of my all-time favorites.
Chris contacted me from Tennessee (a fellow Southerner!) letting me know his plans to propose to his longtime love. He explained his vision – to pop the question while they were visiting Arizona, one of their favorite places in the world. The beautiful Sanctuary Camelback Resort and Spa immediately came to mind. Elements, the attached restaurant, had one of Becca’s all-time favorite meals and the most incredible desert views. He just knew it would be the perfect spot to ask her to be his wife. I was so thrilled to help him plan and to have the honor of capturing this moment for them to treasure forever.
The Elements restaurant staff put together SUCH a romantic setup with the dreamiest backdrop. After enjoying an appetizer, Chris led Becca out back where everything was waiting just for her. She could not believe it! Even though tons of planning took place behind the scenes, she was oblivious and had zero idea this was happening. It was such a hard feat to pull off, but Chris made it happen!
Once the ring was on her hand and the champagne was popped, another surprise was awaiting them. Chris had invited all of their closest friends to come to Arizona to celebrate! After greetings were shared, we snapped some portraits of the two of them in the Elements garden! Afterwards, they enjoyed a custom prepared meal with their friends. The Praying Monk patio was the perfect spot to continue celebrating while they watched the classic Arizona sunset in all its glory. This was a perfect evening for such a sweet, fun, and deserving couple! It is always an honor to be invited into such intimate, beautiful and joy-filled moments with the best people.
