Choosing the perfect wedding venue can be a stressful journey… or it can be a ton of fun! Researching what is available in the city you are looking to exchange vows in can be a really incredible experience. If you’re in the Louisville area, I’ve rounded up a handful of my favorite venues! Louisville is full of beautiful locations to tie the knot in, but theses four gorgeous venues have stayed at the top of my preferred venues list! Every time I’ve had the opportunity to capture photos in these spaces, they’ve exceeded expectations in terms of staff dedication, aesthetics, and an overall experience that goes above and beyond.
From the grandeur of The Seelbach to the timeless elegance of Whitehall, the enchantingness of Yew Dell Gardens, and the exclusive sophistication of The Pendennis Club — these venues have left an imprint on my photography career and led to some pretty unforgettable wedding days for my couples! Let’s take a look at Louisville’s finest!
The Seelbach
I’m a bit of a history nerd, therefore I absolutely love the history of this classic hotel! It’s a fun fact that Al Capone visited The Seelbach frequently and even utilized secret passageways within its walls. The details of the main room are so elegant and stunning for the bride, groom, and wedding party. Not to mention, the grand staircase is to die for! Don’t believe me, take a look below! Whitehall
This historic mansion and garden grounds are a southern dream come true. It’s so classic and picturesque. One of the reasons I love it so much is because there is an infinite amount of places for beautiful portraits. The venue radiates such a peaceful feeling that it’s hard to remember you’re only minutes from a busy city! The tented reception space is a perfect spot for both large and intimate gatherings. Each time I visit, it is so evident that the staff are dedicated to taking excellent care of the mansion and immaculate gardens! Yew Dell Botanical Gardens
Yew Dell is a garden paradise located in the suburbs of Louisville. With acres of unique and beautiful gardens and forest, you will feel like you’ve stepped into a fairytale. Completing that feeling is an adorable little castle overlooking a picturesque field that makes for such beautiful portraits! You can walk through a manicured row of Yew Dell trees into a breathtaking outdoor ceremony space. The covered pavilion situated next to the gardens is perfect for your reception or for keeping guests dry during your ceremony if the the weather calls for rain. You truly cannot find wedding venues quite like Yew Dell!
The Pendennis Club
The Pendennis Club is a beautiful and classic space. It boasts a beautiful arched entryway that is perfect for portraits. There is a room fit for every occasion, from a billiards room for the guys to get ready in, a cozy library space for cocktail hour and gorgeous ballrooms great for dinner and dancing.
