Without a doubt, the biggest honor I have as a wedding photographer is the ability to tell stories. This is truly what made me fall in love with photographing weddings. Actually living this dream out with my couples is something I will never take for granted. I have the privilege of telling my couple’s unique love stories and how they met through my photographs. But, I also get to share stories they’ve built overtime. Legacies are being both celebrated and created in real time right in front of my camera.
Legacies of love
To share what brought them to this exact moment in time is truly a gift. There is sincerely no greater joy than sitting down with my couples and hearing their journey. Oftentimes, it’s family and friends who are granted credit. That’s why during your big day, I love showcasing those who are not only part of who you are, but are an extension of your heart. The people you can’t imagine spending your wedding without.
Morgan and Jacob’s wedding day at the Secret Garden in Phoenix, Arizona was an opportunity to tell so many stories. These two have so many people who have loved them fiercely and were thrilled to celebrate them becoming one. There were so many layers of story and sentiment threaded into this day. From carrying a family prayer book down the aisle, to her grandmother overcoming tremendous health odds to walk down the aisle and dance at the reception, to the tears as Morgan came down the aisle and the heartfelt vows exchanged. Fun fact-Morgan and Jacob are each a twin, and met because Morgan was looking for Jacob’s twin brother!! The stories shared during the toasts had me both laughing and crying behind the camera. Special dances with parents AND grandparents showed just how tight knit these families truly are. There was such a sweet feeling of warmth and closeness throughout the day that was such a testament to a strong foundation of love. It’s no wonder Morgan and Jacob can love each other so fiercely.
