Choosing the perfect spot for your engagement session is one of the most exciting parts of planning your photos. Cincinnati has no shortage of beautiful locations, from timeless architecture to lush gardens filled with soft, golden light. Whether you’re dreaming of something modern and polished or romantic and nature-filled, this city truly has it all.
For Caroline and Jacob’s engagement session, we visited two of my favorite spots: Ault Park and the Lytle Hotel. What started as a last-minute pivot ended up being the sweetest surprise! I can’t wait to share why both locations were such a perfect fit for their session.

Ault Park
Ault Park is one of the most beloved spots for engagement photos in the city, and it’s easy to see why. The grand pavilion, sprawling garden paths, and soft greenery make it an effortless backdrop in any season. We originally had another location planned for Caroline and Jacob, but we pivoted to Ault Park and I’m so glad we did. These two are getting married here next year, which made their photos feel even more meaningful. Every moment captured on the stone steps, under the archways, and along the tree-lined paths now feels beautifully connected to their wedding day. It’s truly one of the most romantic and versatile places in Cincinnati to tell a love story like theirs.

Lytle Hotel
If you’re looking for a location that offers classic architecture with a clean, modern feel, the Lytle Hotel is the place. The polished hallways, soft neutral tones, and historic charm bring an elevated look to every shot. For these two, Lytle Hotel gave us the perfect contrast to the natural, airy feel of Ault Park. We wandered through quiet corners, elegant entryways, and light-filled spaces, creating images that feel timeless and full of genuine emotion. It’s a wonderful choice for couples who want something polished without being overly formal.
Other Cincinnati Engagement Photo Locations to Consider:
While Ault Park and Lytle Hotel were the perfect match for Caroline and Jacob, Cincinnati has many beautiful options worth exploring:
- Eden Park: Scenic overlooks, water features, and wide-open green spaces. It’s perfect for couples who want nature with a touch of architecture. It is a public area, so just make sure there are no other events happening when you plan your shoot!
- Smale Riverfront Park: Ideal for river views and sunsets! The walkways and gardens photograph beautifully all year long.
- Washington Park: A charming blend of city, greenery, and historic architecture. Great for couples who love an urban vibe.
- Cincinnati Art Museum Grounds: Elegant stone steps, quiet paths, and refined architecture make for a great choice for couples wanting a classic look.
- Taft Art Museum: Here you will be surrounded by some of Cincinnati’s most stunning views. This landmark building is a beautiful example of classic architecture that also boasts beautiful gardens.
Your engagement photos should feel true to your relationship, and Cincinnati makes it easy to find the perfect backdrop. Whether you’re drawn to the natural beauty of Ault Park, the timeless elegance of the Lytle Hotel, or one of the many other gorgeous locations in the city, your session can be tailored to your exact style.
