Some love stories feel like they’re pulled straight from the pages of a fairytale, and Jason and Savana’s proposal at The Kentucky Castle was exactly that.
We watched the forecast anxiously all week. It started out as a 70% chance of rain, then dropped to 50%, and finally hung out around 30%. Each day gave us more hope that we would be able to capture Jason and Savana’s fairytale proposal outside! When Friday finally rolled around, there was hardly a cloud in the sky! And not a drop of rain in sight! It truly couldn’t have been more perfect.
Jason had chosen The Kentucky Castle for a very meaningful reason. Savana had recently returned from a trip to Europe, where she completely fell in love with the breathtaking castles she visited. He wanted to recreate a little bit of that magic back home, choosing a place that reminded her of those unforgettable memories while creating an entirely new one together.
The evening sun shined down on the castle grounds in the dreamiest golden light as Jason led Savana through the gardens. Standing in front of the castle, surrounded by perfectly manicured greenery and the storybook architecture, he got down on one knee and asked the question that would change both of their lives forever. And of course… she said yes!
One of my favorite parts of photographing proposals is getting to witness the genuine surprise and emotion. Nothing compares to the excitement, happy tears, laughter, and those first moments as a newly engaged couple. They’re truly always such an honor to document. After the proposal, we spent time wandering around the castle grounds for an engagement session. The excitement was still fresh, and this couple was giddy with anticipation of a new chapter! The Kentucky Castle offers romantic backdrops around every corner, from its charming stone architecture to its lush gardens. Savana looked absolutely stunning in a flowing pink dress, which felt like it belonged in a fairytale against the backdrop.
These two were so naturally joyful together. Whether they were walking hand in hand, laughing between poses, or simply soaking in the moment, it was impossible not to smile behind the camera. Congratulations, Jason and Savana! Thank you for allowing me to be part of such a meaningful chapter in your story. I can’t wait to see where this next adventure takes you both.
