If Kyleigh and Peyton look familiar, it might be because you’ve seen them here before from their beautiful wedding at the Olmsted. Getting to photograph couples in multiple seasons of their lives will never get old for me, and this one felt especially sweet.
This time, I got to step into their home and meet the newest addition to their family. There is just something so special about those first days at home with a newborn. Everything feels a little slower, a little quieter, and your whole world starts to revolve around this tiny person. It is such a tender season, and being invited into it is never something I take lightly.
In-home newborn sessions will always have my heart for that reason. There is no need to pack up or go anywhere. You get to stay in the space where your life is already unfolding. The nursery you spent months preparing, the couch where you cuddle up together, the windows that let in that soft morning light. It all becomes part of your story.
Kyleigh and Peyton made this session feel so easy. They settled right into their rhythm, holding their baby close, laughing together, and just soaking it all in. Nothing felt rushed or overly posed. We simply followed the moments as they came. Some of my favorite parts were the quiet ones. The way Kyleigh looked at baby Porter, like she was trying to memorize every little detail. The way Peyton naturally stepped in, steady and calm, holding them both so close. Those in-between moments are always the ones that matter most.
That is the beauty of an in-home newborn session. It is not about perfection. It’s about connection. It is about capturing what life actually feels like in those early days. The feeding, the rocking, the slow mornings, and the love that fills every corner of your home. Sessions like this are more than just photos. They become a way to remember this season exactly as it was. The tiny details, the emotions, and the way everything felt so new.
Watching Kyleigh and Peyton step into this new chapter has been such a joy. From their wedding day to now, their story just keeps getting sweeter. And getting to document it along the way is truly the best part of what I do.
