Chloe and Kyle have always loved flowers. So, when we started dreaming up their engagement session, we knew we wanted to fully lean into that. Think color, texture, and something that felt a little whimsical but still true to them.
Middle Springs Farm ended up being the perfect spot! Just outside of Lexington, this little slice of Kentucky completely comes alive in the summer with rows of sunflowers that seem to go on forever. It is one of those places that feels peaceful the second you step into it. And it could not have fit Chloe and Kyle better.
We met on a warm evening when the light was starting to soften. From the very beginning, these two were just so easy together. They’re the kind of couple that does not need a lot of direction, because they naturally fall into step with each other. Lots of laughter, lots of quiet in-between moments, and just a genuine comfort that you can feel right away. Chloe wore the most beautiful flowy dress that moved so effortlessly with the breeze. Kyle stayed close by her side the whole time, always making her smile. We wandered through the sunflower paths, stopping here and there as the light shifted and the blooms seemed to glow around them.
What made this session so special wasn’t just the setting (though the sunflowers certainly did their part). It was the way these two interacted—playful, gentle, and completely at ease. Every glance, every smile, felt genuine and unposed. Plus, I loved how this entire session felt unhurried.
As the sun dipped lower, everything turned that soft golden color photographers love so much. Those quiet moments right before sunset always end up being my favorite part of any session. By the time we wrapped up, the sky had shifted and the field grew still, but that easy, joyful energy stayed with us. Sessions like this are such a good reminder that it does not take anything over the top to create something meaningful. Just a beautiful place, a little bit of light, and two people who genuinely love being together. And honestly, that is always more than enough.
