My Old Kentucky Home Engagement Session

The sun may not have shone brightly over My Old Kentucky Home, but that didn’t stop us from capturing the sweetest moments during Gracie and Austin’s engagement session on beautiful Federal Hill!

We connected instantly during our first call, so meeting in person for their engagement photos felt more like catching up with dear friends. It was truly a stroke of luck that we could meet up this summer, as Austin lives in Canada and only visits Kentucky on certain weeks. So, our timing had to be just right!

He and Gracie met in college, just down the road from where Christian and I met, and they’ve been sweethearts ever since. Long-distance relationships aren’t easy, but these two have navigated it with grace. I told them if they can keep the spark alive while living in two different countries, then they can tackle anything marriage might bring their way!

We explored the historic grounds of Federal Hill, soaking in the beauty of the gardens and imagining what it will be like to take wedding portraits in these same spots next summer. Gracie and Austin’s Old Kentucky Home engagement session will be followed by their Old Kentucky Home wedding next summer! A cool breeze followed us around, adding just the right amount of movement to Gracie’s hair and dress.

I’m counting down the days until their Old Kentucky Home wedding next year when they’ll finally begin their lives together in the same city, and I’ll have the honor of capturing their first moments as husband and wife!

If you’re a bride-to-be dreaming of romantic images in Kentucky, now is the perfect time to reserve your 2026 wedding or engagement session with me! Dates are filling quickly!
